This new and unique tour designed by ex-military staff, is for those hardy souls who yearn for rugged off-road adventure in hostile deep desert terrain while touring spectacular desert, stunning oases and historical WWII sights.
Clients are driven in a ex-military Volvo jeeps or by special arrangement can drive their own vehicle. A typical tour set up would comprise of one Command Control Vehicle, one 6x6 truck with fuel, water, support equipment and staff for two to four tourist vehicles. Staffing would include a tour leader, medic, driver/mechanics, a cook, and two support staff. Bedouin style tented accommodation is provided. The route of around 2000km is set out below.
- Day 1:
- Start in Aswan or in Khartoum and fly to Dongola receive your vehicle and equipment. Drive to desert oasis where overnight.
- Day 2:
- Drive to Soleb via desert route, fish along the Nile River in area of Soleb. If possible watch Nile crocodiles from local boat. Overnight in Nubian compound.
- Day 3:
- Drive to the Salima oasis over a tough desert route of 280 km. Night stop at the oasis.
- Day 4:
- Drive 280km from Salima along WW II supply route to desert camp. Night stop in desert.
- Day 5:
- Drive on to the Sudanese side of Karkur Talh. Overnight.
- Day 6:
- A gentle day of exploring the area or rest.

- Day 7:
- Commence driving towards Nukhayla Oasis 360 km away. Dependent on the season and conditions this tour can be done in one day. Otherwise a night stop will be required halfway along the route.
- Day 8:
- Reserve day or stay at the Nukhayla Oasis and visit nearby oases.
- Day 9:
- Continue towards Al Atrun Oasis (120 km), then onwards towards the picturesque Gaab Oasis. Nightstop.
- Day 12:
- Drive on to Dongola and overnight outside Gaab.
- Day 13:
- Reserve day.
- Day 14:
- Drive to Dongola airport and fly to Khartoum or Aswan where overnight.
- Day 15:
- Return flight to the comfort of home.
